Brown Derby

1.5 ounces bourbon, preferably Green River Bourbon

1 ounce grapefruit juice, freshly squeezed

1/2 ounce honey syrup

grapefruit twist, for garnish

Add the bourbon, grapefruit juice, and honey syrup into a shaker with ice and shake until well-chilled. Fine strain in a chilled coupe glass. Express the oil from a grapefruit twist over the drink and drop the twist into the drink to garnish.

To create honey syrup, simply mix honey with an equal amount of water and stir until fully dissolved, then allow to cool.
